Knitting by Blind Faith

God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
1 Corinthians, 1:9

I spent today reflecting on the little things: the morning walk with Peace, the kind words of my best friend, and the unwavering support of my loving husband (whose feet I measured for a pair of felted booties about half an hour after I swore off knitting forever–and I meant FOREVER).

As I hear about people who have suffered the loss of loved ones, their jobs, and their homes, I think about how fortunate I am to have good friends nearby (many of whom are believers) and family just a phone call away. In all these things, I am reminded that God is faithful. He loves us and cares for us. In our day to day fast-paced lives, we often feel that God isn’t there when frustrations and difficulties arise. But all we have to do is slow down and think about all the really important things, and we know that God is there, that He has blessed us beyond measure. He is just waiting to hear from us and to comfort us in our time of need. The key is, we have to open ourselves to His love and His voice.

Take it from me, when you pray to God and express a heartfelt thank-you for each of His many blessings, it really puts things into perspective. And, it cleanses your soul.
